Partly because that's what we inherited from our grandfather, who started the herd in 1947!
But also because Guernsey milk is not like other milk.
It’s yellow because Guernsey cows do not digest beta carotene (the natural chemical that makes carrots orange) – they pass it straight on to us, and we turn it into Vitamin A.
It also contains three times as much Omega 3, an essential fatty acid, and much higher levels of the protein beta casein A2, than ordinary milk. For more on the benefits of A2, go to www.guernseyA2milk.com.
Oh, and because, despite the fabulous, creamy taste, it’s still 95% fat free!
We sell our milk and cream raw and unpasteurised - just the way nature intended. That means many people who are lactose-intolerant can drink it, as well as the rest of us.
We also have some fabulous local cheeses made from Guernsey or Jersey milk - and deliciously rich Guernsey ice cream!
