Kathryn, who grows a lot of our veg, specialises in unusual or heritage varieties of vegetable. She is also immensely knowledgeable about potatoes (she grew 32 varieties last year).
We have a lot of very happy hens that live in a grassy field, grubbing around and doing what hens are supposed to do. They lay eggs with proper yellow yolks, and whites that hold together instead of spreading across the pan.
What do we sell?
The shop stocks everything from milk (both raw and pasteurised), bread, meat, and cheese to cakes, jams and chutneys; from sauces, pies and cereals to flour, beetroot juice and ice cream.
The vegetables we sell depend on the season. It might be broad beans, asparagus and purple-sprouting broccoli, or parsnips, curly kale and spaghetti squash.
